Galloway Horse Club newsletter early 2017
Hello everyone!

Welcome to our GHC Spring 2017 newsletter.

We have kicked the year off in style with some Patrick Print and David Wadge training. We plan to run these throughout the year as long as they continue to be well supported. Both trainers provide flatwork and jumping options, group and individual lessons and so can hopefully cater for all. If you have any specific training ideas or special trainers you would like us to try to source then please let one of the committee know and we will see what we can do.

Our first event was our fun and challenging arena event. This was well attended and great to see everyone out having such fun so early on in the season. Do look out for our second arena event in the Autumn time.

Our next event is going to be our X-country show jumping on the 1st April at our new venue, Screel. Fingers crossed the weather will be kind for this early opportunity to have some some out in the fields.

We have chosen 3 Spring dressage evenings this year due to popular demand: 9th May, 23rd May and 6th June. These evenings provide a very valuable opportunity to ride on grass in a laid back and relaxed atmosphere, ideal for all but especially young horses.

Not long after this will be our open SJ on 10th June at Valleyfield and our combined event on the 2nd July (Venue tbc)

As some of you will know it is the club’s 50th anniversary year this year and we have plans to celebrate in style! We have arranged for the one and only Ian Stark to come and talk to us on the 15th May in Castle Douglas. A buffet will be provided and full details will be released, with ticket sales very soon! This is definitely a night not to be missed!

We are keen to send teams for area competitions this year but need you to put yourselves forwards for this. Please don’t be shy, area competitions are a great experience an opportunity to attend big finals if successful!

Please check our facebook page and Galloway horse club website regularly for all updates. Do encourage all your friends to join (it’s only £25 per year) and gives discounts on all our training and event entries.

We are always open to suggestions and new ideas. We want to provide our members with what you want!

Wishing you all a continued fab 2017!
